With reference to our letter of 2nd May and your letter No. 615 of June 12th and your letter No. 910 of July 20th to Messrs. Shewan, Tomes & Co., we beg to submit to you the Plan shewing Details of Permanent Way Construction modified in accordance with your wishes and beg to ask for your formal approval at your early convenience, as our home friends are awaiting telegraphic information.
With reference to the concrete for surface, we wish to point out that the composition renders an exceedingly strong concrete and therefore of considerable cost and we would ask that this concrete (6 to 1) may be used only for say the top 3", the remaining 3' being of the 1st mixture of a very strong concrete.
